Roku for Treehouse Videos

Has there been any discussion by the Treehouse Staff about making the Treehouse videos viewable on the Roku set top player?

I was looking over the documentation for the Roku private channels this evening and thinking about converting the iTunes RSS feed to a private channel format. If I was able to do so could I share how I did it with the community? Or am I just working on something ya'll are already working on?

Hi Mark,

We don't have any plans for a roku channel right now that I am aware of. We are currently focusing on some other great treehouse features.. I'll have a talk with the team about the idea.

The problem with the iTunes feed is it is linked to your account. It's not a public feed. A roku channel for treehouse would have to be able to authenticate your treehouse account to customize the videos you want.

Thanks for the suggestion, it's something I will talk to the team about.

Thanks Jim the points you identified are exactly why I raised the question. I have no doubt that I could figure out a solution using the feed but if I share how to do it then someone could fairly easily share out their private channel.

Thanks for taking it back to the team for what it is worth I think a solution to watch on your TV would be a really powerful feature.

Just wanted to +1 this idea ... that or apple TV

Any set-top box solution that supports HTML5 will work with Treehouse.

2 such options are Google TV's set-top boxes or a laptop with Kylo installed and which has HDMI out.

plus 2 Roku please. I don't want to hook my laptop to the TV I have airplay but I like using my roku in the lab.

Do it and make a class on building a roku app at the same time. I would love to know how to build one.

Another +1 (and I have a Roku, Fire Stick, Chrome Stick, and a Plex Server)
