I accidentally deleted a few files from the root directory, is there anyway to retrieve those files back?

If you;re using Workspaces you could try restarting a fresh workspace from a previous video and maybe copy the files back. You should be able to create new files from the interface there and then work your way back to where you were before.

If you're working locally with git and your text editor you can try git checkout to get back ro the version your staging area with your last commit that has the files.

Or they could simply be in your systems' recycle bin.
