RPG roller question

My answer for pt. 2 won't work because "Can't get the length of a 'Hand'." Yet I ran my code in IDLE and it works as expected. I am able to generate Hand instances and get their lengths without issue. Any ideas why it won't work?

dice.py
import random

class Die:
    def __init__(self, sides=2):
        if sides < 2:
            raise ValueError("Can't have fewer than two sides")
        self.sides = sides
        self.value = random.randint(1, sides)

    def __int__(self):
        return self.value

    def __add__(self, other):
        return int(self) + other

    def __radd__(self, other):
        return self + other

class D20(Die):
    def __init__(self):
        Die.__init__(self, sides=20)
hands.py
class Hand(list):
    def roll(self, numdice):
        for _ in range(numdice):
            self.append(D20())

    @property
    def total(self):
        return sum(self)

Here's a few hints:

  • the challenge expects you to return a new instance, but this code doesn't return anything
  • since a new instance is being created, this should probably be a class method
  • "from dice import D20"
