Courses Plus Student 3,548 PointsRuby Application Project
Hey All,
This is a question for the tutorial team here. Are we going to get a fourth series for the Facebook-like Ruby Application project?
I know im getting a little ahead of myself as that would be months away, but it's definitely my favorite series of yours, and being a social-network tutorial, there is definitely a lot of more advanced features that could be added, like direct message, a Facebook-like IM system, etc.
Would be awesome to learn some more advanced stuff like that.
Thanks, Mike

Treehouse Guest TeacherHi Mike,
Thanks so much for the feedback! As of right now, the plan is to re-start the series with Rails 4 but maybe after that we can revisit social features!

1,211 PointsLol, I'm currently having trouble generating a new Rails app and the default being 4.0.0.rc1 and therefore not compatible with the Treehouse tutorials or the other tutorials I'm practicing with.

Courses Plus Student 3,548 Pointscant you just install the older version of rails using:
gem install rails [-v 3.0.7]

Courses Plus Student 3,548 Pointsobviously change the version to 3.2.13

Treehouse Guest TeacherMike Torosyan It's going to be at least a few months before any new versions are released. I'm not sure what's going on with your install of rails since 3.2.13 should still be the default stable version if you do "gem install rails". Mike Legacy is correct, though -- you should be able to install with "gem install rails -v 3.2.13" and follow along with the videos.
