Ruby console

when im watching the video and he goes to ruby his looks different from mine. I have windows and each time i run ruby(ruby interactive) i get this black box thing like a cdm thing. Is he using a mac or linux. Or am i not using the right program.

The instructor is using a MAC, so I guess he has MAC OS X, that's why it looks different visually. Mine also looks like a command prompt and I have windows.

Yeah, they all use Macs (seems to be the preferred system for Rails developers). These prompts can also be customized the way you want, so they will always look different than your Windows terminal. You can simulate this slightly if you download CMDER or use Git Bash.

... or install Mac OS X on to a vmware(or any virtual environment) to feel the same, if you haven't chance to buy a Mac :)
