Ruby -Itest errors

I used the command ruby -Itest test/models/user_test.rb and this is giving 4 errors. I tried rails console => u = User.first and the output was firstname=nil, lastname=nil, profilename=nil etc...

did you prepare your test database?

I cant remember the exact command but its along the lines of 

rake test:prepare
