Ruby on Rails Project Trouble
I'm stuck on "Getting Started with Rails". I'm currently on "Generate a Rails Application" and I'm getting batch file error.
I saw someone else had the same issue and I tried remedying it but I guess I couldn't understand what's going on. I saw the 'rvm' command is a Mac thing, that's where I get lost. Any help or insight would be really awesome.
Thanks.

Courses Plus Student 4,147 Pointsare you on a Mac or Windows?
can you explain what you did and when you got the error?
I'm on a PC (Windows) I opened up cmd prompt and entered the following command.
$ rails new railsinstaller_demo
and I get this error...
$ is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.

Courses Plus Student 4,147 Pointsokay so the dollar sign $ is a mac thing windows doesn't use that so try not using the cash sign.
type in
rails new treebook
it should install a new directory for you with the a bunch of folders inside a directory called treebook.
Thank you it worked. I'll keep that $ in mind moving forward.
