Challenge question 4.

I am trying to make an exception to the rule to change the link to purple in the .footer div. Not clear on how to do this.

Hi Israel Maykut,

You're very close, you simply need to remove the space you have between div and .footer and place it between .footer and & and the challenge will pass.

div.footer &

I removed the space after div. footer and moved it between footer &; no dice.
p{>a{color:blue;&:hover{opacity:0.5;}{div.footer &{color:purple;}}}

Error: Invalid CSS after "...r{opacity:0.5;}": expected "}", was "{div.footer &{c..."

Hi Israel,

Sorry for the long delay, there was a couple of small errors which I missed t he first time round, after formatting your code I found your div.footer & selector wasn't inside the :hover pseudo class along with some curly brace issues.

    &:hover {
      opacity: 0.5;

      div.footer & {
        color: purple;
      }
    }
  }
