sayPhrase - what is my mistake?

The issue is your spelling of the getElementById method. You have written it with ID, but only the I should be capitalized.

If you fix the spelling like this:

let button=document.getElementById('sayPhrase'); // ID changed to Id
let input;

button.addEventListener('click', () => {
  alert(input.value);
});

Then your code will work for the first task.
