Hi Theresa!

Try the following code and your program should compile fine! If you have any questions about this solution then feel free to ask them.

if(mHand.equals("tile")) {
    // Code to be run
}

thanks but this too didn't work. I think its hinting me indexOf method. Any ideas?

Are you sure that doesn't work? It looks like it should to me as mHand is a String not an array.

not working. declaring its -1. any other ideas?
