I believe I place the <section> between the header and footer but it is saying I did not.

You were supposed to put these two lines:

    <h1>My Web Design &amp; Development Portfolio!</h1> 
    <p>A site featuring my latest work.</p>

inside the header tags, not create empty <h1> and <p> tags above the navigation.
