Seeking People who have completed Android Techdegree!! Help

Hi everyone, I just was wondering about some things. I finished the web design track a while ago so I'm pretty familiar with CSS and HTML, but I felt it wasn't what I wanted. So I want to do Android Programming so currently I'm learning Java so I can then pursue Android Development courses then do the tech-degree so I have something to put on my portfolio. I want to be able to get a job in this field by next may. But I'm starting to have second thoughts if Android Programming is the best way to go, whether or not should I learn a different language that would make it easier to get into the programming profession. Maybe an easier language, I don't know. But I also am wondering for those who did the Android Tech-degree, are you currently employed and did it help you enough to have the skills to get an interview or job.
