Can someone please tell me what I'm missing or doing wrong with explanation because the video reference is not helping me or its not clicking lol

Hi Kendall,

The challenge wants you to retrieve value from html input field and assign it to the variable inputValue. At the moment you are assigning the whole input element. All you have to do is to add .value to extract just the value. See the code below. Hope this helps.
