Hi there,
I'm in the process of designing a new portfolio site. I have one problem though in that I don't have any good self portrait photos. I'd really like a good one at a decent size.
I obviously options:
A: Hire a photographer B: Buy photography equipment C: Use Mobile
I'm reluctant to hire a photographer and the cost for photography equipment is quite high (£2000+).
Are there any cheaper alternatives? I wouldn't rule out buying a camera but not at that price. My main concern is lighting. All I really need is a somewhere I can have a white background and a timed photo in good quality.
I know I've kind of answered my own question but I know nothing about photography, has anyone got any cost effective solutions?

4,645 PointsAsk on Facebook or Twitter if anyone you know already owns a nice DSLR or cameraphone with a good portrait mode (like the newer Samsung or Apple phones) and is willing to do a quick portrait photo in exchange for a coffee or something. Try and meet up on a nice sunny day somewhere outside with a nice broad white wall for background and be sure to meet when you can do the photos during The Golden Hour (http://www.photographymad.com/pages/view/the-golden-hour-in-photography).
Also, if you want to buy photo equipment you can get by for only a few hundred pounds, not a couple thousand. I would google something like 'inexpensive beginner DSLR' for ideas. Good luck!
