You'll be glad to know that the SEO course here on Treehouse is quite up to date on all the basic info everyone should know. There are always new things coming out, and constant change in the Internet Marketing field, but they always build on the basics taught in the course here, and SEO is one area that actually hasn't changed much at all. In fact, most people agree that SEO works better than almost anything else you can do.

If you would like to know the latest SEO stuff as it comes out, go to the OMG (One Man Gang) website and learn from them: http://omgmachines.org/ NOTE: Their courses are often very expensive, but they know what they're talking about.

I'll tell you though that the 4 main things to worry about are all mentioned in the course here: 1) Good Content with keywords that make sense 2) Title tags in HTML 3) Meta Description tags in HTML 4) Backlinks/3rd party links

Thank you Daniel for the informations, and i mostly enjoy taking the courses here in Treehouse because of the way it presented and the simplifications . and just a suggestion , why don't you add more courses and put more focus on SEM, regard content building that is relevant to SEO standards and how to do Link-building the right way, keywords analytics .
Plus Digital marketing and social media.

Regards.

I'm flattered that you think I work for Treehouse. I don't, I'm just another user like you. I graduated from business school a year ago and can't get a job, so I'm teaching myself coding just like you.

You want to learn content building? Check out Copyblogger.com. They have good stuff and I've learned a lot there.

Treehouse specializes in teaching coding. The SEO course here is the basics you need to know, but if Treehouse taught all that too, they couldn't focus on teaching coding better, which is what we are all here for, right? There are better places to go that focus on the internet marketing side, like OMG and Copyblogger.

Good luck in your internet marketing studies! I have one other recommendation. Study Google Analytics. I took the certification through Google Partners a year ago and now I'm certified. Google Analytics is great and you will learn what you need to focus on with your site and conversion.
