SEO Opinions/Advice

Hello!

I created and have been building up a site (Program in Person: http://www.programinperson.com) and I have been doing some research regarding SEO. Now this was created to just be a side project but people were interested, wanted to join and so I am working on it to expand my knowledge and see how the site goes.

Anyway, I have implemented some meta codes (titles and descriptions for each page) in addition to the google webmaster aspect. For PiP, and other future projects I work on for clients, I was wondering what other advice fellow developers may have for SEO purposes?

I've been going through the videos here (still going through) but thought it could not hurt to ask.

Thank you!

Ravindra,

I appreciate taking the time to respond =) My site is not built on WordPress so any settings they have/use to help is not relevant to my situation. Regarding the keywords, I know some say to use and others say to avoid. Personally I think it is best to avoid (from my gatherings) because google could even remove if there are too many used.

Of course the quality and quantity of content is king and what really drives that force. As time goes on, that will grow =) Was just curious if there was anything else to do/ensure.

Thank you and congratulations on your blog!

Joe

Well it doesn't mean which software is powering your site because wordpress plugin also put snippets of seo code on frontend. You should add the SEO code to frontend.

And for Keyword, keyword isn't a waste but it depend on the one who is using it. I never said use to many keywords. Keyword are must but they need to be very specific and relative to your article otherwise using too many unrelated keywords affect your SEO rank down. It is very strict principle.

Lastly optimize your site for frontend by gzip, combining and minifing css/javascript, use javascript or add it on the bottom, using cdn will be awesome.

Ravindra,

Thank you again for more information =) I am confused when you say "add the SEO code to the front-end"? Looks like I may have to re consider using keywords. Just a few, specific words really.

I have jQuery at portions of my site, need to work on a little more of the front end as I've been focusing more on the back-end functionality =P
