Should I be a junior web developer?

Hi guys,

I have had a few interviews for junior web developer positions however each one tells me they do a lot of work with Wordpress however I prefer hard coding from scratch...Should I be going for a software developer job rather than web? Any advice would be appreciated...thanks in advance.

Shaun

Hey Shaun,

Can you explain what you mean by hard coding from scratch?

Most web design/develop agencies use WordPress as a CMS after shelling the initial site. Typically that involves writing the website from scratch (HTML/CSS(Sass), PHP, jQuery, etc.) and converting the site to WordPress at some point during the development process. However, it's also common to receive regular client requests for site updates that balance between the front and back end of WordPress.
