Should I specialize or learn it all?

There are so many courses to chose from. Is it better to specialize in a paticular field or to learn the most we can? How do you set your learning objectives?

specialize then find a job. Then expand.

Hi!

I'd almost certainly say that specialization is more beneficial more often than not and especially in the beginning as several of the topics covered in Treehouse courses are superficially similar but substantially different.

Regarding objectives, it's good to have a role model or ideal product of labor to study. In my case, I really needed to learn web design (a massive field involving a dozen or more separate disciplines) for representing my creative projects on the internet. I picked several sites I admired and considered successful and decided to pick them apart bit by bit.

All this being said, the deeper you delve into one particular topic, the more it will show you how much there is to learn and explore. In my case, again, learning basic HTML and CSS gave way to Design principles, business strategy and even basic programming.

Don't feel overwhelmed. Just focus and hone in on something that interests you and learn it deeply.

Hope this helps, Max
