2,300 PointsShould TeamTreeHouse have a free model in addition to their paid options?
I like the service and im not complaining but I was just curious as to why teamtreehouse doesn't offer a free ad supported free option to go along with their $25 and $50 a month pay models?
I ask this because if the ads were non intrusive and set up similar to Youtube's low key ads that show while the video you want to watch is playing I think many more people would use this service.
What do you guys think?

2,300 PointsTristan Gaebler, I am not arguing otherwise. I am just trying to understand how having a free tier with ads (you would get the same content as the $25 tier) doesn't help expand profits.

6,253 Pointswell if they offer a free service what would that intel. some courses but not all. it wouldn't include the forum which is an important of treehouse. i like the way that it is. they continue to update courses which is awesome. i can learn at my own pace.

2,300 PointsBut why would a free model stop them from updating courses or impede on you learning at your own pace?
Basically what I am suggesting is that the free tier be the same as the $25 tier but with non intrusive ads. I would imagine that they could potentially (and more than likely) make more money this way. I don't think it would hurt them to at least test it out for a few months. And if it ends up not adding to their potential profits they can just scrap it.

6,204 PointsHonestly, I think 25 is a steel for the quality of content they produce.
