General Discussion

Should we mention projects completed on treehouse as part of learning on our LinkedIn profile?

I just wanted to check is it good to mention our treehouse projects on our LinkedIn profile,if yes please let me know how should i describe it in my profile to attract recruiters.

If you are trying to become an app developer all you need to care about is that your product is useful and can go public. If your version of teamtreehouse project falls in that category go for it. Place the source code in your github repository so anyone can have full access on your code. If it's a mobile app go register it. If you have your website put some demos and briefly explain what it does and technologies you used. In my mind that's a good starting point although I'm not even close to achieving that.

Yes I would definitely share it. I am proud of every project I complete on this website, and what treehouse teaches me. Ok yes the projects have been made by thousands of others, but I still made it, and its proof of things I learnt.

When describing your project just be honest and open about it, and describe it as a "learning Project" or something of that nature.

If you want to go one step further, take the treehouse projects you have done, and put a personal twist on it. And then say that you took the basic project and made it better (then ofcourse explain how you made it better).

Hope you appreciate my opinon

Thank you Gunhoo and Aaron for your opinion i really appreciate it,i got your point i was just confused about the fact the projects that i complete here are also made my thousands others and the idea other sources belongs to treehouse so i was confused about its credibility, but Aaron you advised well mentioning it under Learning Project or some sort is really good. Gunhoo i am learning to use github i will work on your idea too of putting source code over there.

Good luck

I would not. Treehouse's lack of support in this area worries me. It is the sole reason I stopped using Treehouse as well. If they believed in their product enough, they would make it easier for users to share their progress and track their success. For over a year now, Treehouse has been deathly silent on this topic. That in and of itself is enough to make me not use their service anymore.
