Shouldn't this store the $key into the variable?

<ul> <?php foreach($books as $key $value) { ?> <?php $isbn = $key; ?> <li><?php echo $value; ?></li> <?php } ?> </ul>

$books["978-0520227040"] = "Mahabharta";
$books["978-0393320978"] = "Beowulf";

Hi there Joshua!

Yes it should assign key value to the variable isbn. But in your foreach loop something is missing.

foreach($books as $key => $value) { ... }

That should do the trick.

Best regards.
