Simple math not working in Java?

I did what the question was asking, it seems that it is not working though. Hmm....

var retailPrice = 9.99;
var quantity = 47;

var salesTotal = retailPrice * quantity;

var profit = (salesTotal - wholsalePrice) * quantity;

Hi Aidan,

You're very close. It is just your order of operations and how the question is worded.

Change your

var profit = (salesTotal - wholsalePrice) * quantity;

to

var profit = salesTotal - (wholsalePrice * quantity);
