Depending upon how you install WordPress, you may not need to modify your wp-config file. The WordPress installation script has inputs that populate that for you, so that you don't have to manually update your wp-config file. Without having more information on hand, this is tough to diagnosis.

Here are a few things that come to mind:

1) If you're installing WP manually, did you install a database that corresponds with the information in your wp-config file? 2) Did you include all of the necessary information in your wp-config file? (e.g. table_prefix). 3) Can you login to the back end as is? If so, try updating your permalink structure.

If all else fails, does your host provide support?

This may be something that they can do for you depending upon your provider.
