Slow video streaming

I'm experiencing slow video streaming while other video services (youtube, vimeo, ecc...) work really fine even with high quality videos.

I have this problem only with treehouse videos and only since the last week. Until a week ago it worked fine.

I'm from Italy if it could help to find where the problem is.

I'm also having the same issue, which occurred at roughly the same time. I used to be able to watch at 1.5x and now it barely load at 1x.

Hi, I mailed the support team about the problem. They told me that if I use Chrome or Firefox, I have to try to watch videos in incognito mode. Probably the problem is from some extension/plugin of the browser that cause interference with the HMTL5, so in incognito mode you use the browser without them.

If it works, then you can try to disable the extensions one by one to find out wich is the "bad" one and disable it.

I tried and it worked for me. Precisely, it was "Tunnelbear" (a VPN plugin).

I hope this will help you as well. ;)

Just an update that might be usefull for everyone with my same problem. I also find out that my sister smartphone (android based) has something that drain the bandwidth.

I tried to change the password of my wifi so that I would be the only one connected: perfect internet connection. I've updated the password on every device at home, one by one. All worked fine until I connected my sister's smartphone. I disconnected it: connection worked fine. Connected: all slowed down again. (She's 13 years old. Can you imagine how many horrible apps she has installed?)

I'm sure that most of the problem was the Google Chrome 3rd party plugin, because even when my sister's smartphone was connected, youtube, vimeo and similars worked fine. It might be a possibility to check out however.

No way.

Videos turned slow again. No sister's smartphone and no 3rd party plugin for Chrome or Firefox.

I don't really know where to look for now.

Ok. I tried everything came up in my mind. Still don't know why treehouse's streaming is so slow.

Youtube and others work fine even on 1080p, no 1 second of lack.

I'm pretty sure the problem is at teamtreehouse's.

I'm also having the same issue. It's so frustrating and really slowing down my learning. Help!

Amanda, I imagine you already tried the incognito mode, right? It still persist? Wich browser do you use? Have you tried to switch to other browsers? I tried Chrome, Firefox and Internet Explorer but nothing changed.

I've wrote to the support team, I hope we'll find a solution soon. For the moment I can suggest to download the videos via itunes, so you can bypass the slow streaming problem.

Hi Luca, I am far in China, they don't have server here, it is very slow, do you have any VPN can recommend ?
