smtp connect failed

I've tried a couple of things, first following this step by step, than talking with the people at Bluehost where I'll be hosting my first website (I'm just testing and tweaking my site. I opened an email account there, taking information they gave me and substituting it in my code,failing), then back to following this Treehouse lesson again, step by step, mostly cutting and pasting and using a new gmail I opened for my client (I did 2 step verfication and put the code in), which failed again. I've gotten a variety of error messages throughout. I have no idea what's wrong or where to go from here. I rejoined Treehouse this month just to access this lesson for this final step of building this site. Anyone out there have any ideas?? Thanks so much in advance.
