HTML

So favicons how do you implement them in HTML5, and what are the do's and don'ts.

I am trying to get a favicon to show up on a clients website and no matter what code i put in or the size i put it in, It does not show up. I have tested this on a server and on my local machine and nothing happens. Here is the HTML, and it is contained within the head section.

<link rel="icon" href="../images/favicon.png">

Hi Aaron,

In order for an favicon to appear the meta tag rel attribute needs to be shortcut icon.

<link rel="shortcut icon" href="images/favicon.png">

Also I don't think you need the ../ in the path as favicon's are relative to the site not to the file system.

Thank you so very much!!!!!
