Social media app
I have asked this before but I have not received a straight answer. Is tree house able to teach me how to create a social media app from an existing website? Will they teach me the skills to do it or should I look somewhere else so I am not wasting time here. Thanks a bunch in advance for the reply.

I don't think you can really get a straight answer since there are a lot of factors to consider. I know that Treehouse can teach you the basics, they can also teach you how to create a couple of iPhone apps, and get you started. But you will also need to spend time learning more on your own as well.
I'm not a IOS developer but if I compared it to Web Design then I can say that Treehouse taught me the basics, they taught me the intermediate, and also the advanced techniques. But I had to go and study the documents, watch conference videos, listen to podcasts, and read additional books to feel like I can create something. But Treehouse help me lay a foundation so when I did all these things I was able to understand it and not feel lost.
Not sure if that helps answer your question but why not take a look at this "Track" and join it. Its called Learn to Build iPhone Apps. Go through the courses and see if that helps you get started. If you have any more questions I'm sure other IOS developers on here would be glad to help.

Excellent reply Ricardo! I think a Social Media App is quite a complex challenge! There is nothing like wasting time when it comes to learning, there are so many resources that at this point in time you can't really tell what is right and what is wrong.
There will always be an element of trial and error in the learning process! The most important thing is that you try to get yourself involved in as many projects as possible so that you learn!
