software for writing quizzes which show the answer as I go along

I want to create a quiz similar to the ones in the tutorials - that shows the answers as the user goes along..does anyone know anything about this? it doesn't need to be free

Sounds like a good opportunity to blend some of the skills in the courses. You could mix the quiz exercise with the spoilers exercise, for example, if you wanted to be able to "peek" at the answer.

Or you could just display the answer next to the score.

If you're just starting, you might need to take another course or two, but this is something you'll be able to do pretty well with a basic skill set.
