Solution: If you're having problems with a:link

If you're having any problems with the a:link selector, then I think I know why. You have probably already visited that link beforehand.

For example, in my case, I had the same problem. I clearly remember me clicking around on this website and all of it's links before I applied this style. That's why it gave the <a> tags a visited thing. To test this, I wrote the a:visited {color: lightblue;} in my style.css file. This gave me exactly what I thought it should give me. So if you're having this problem, this is probably why.
