Someone knows about "apache velocity language"?

On my enterprise using "velocity" to create a website. Someone has an opinion about it? Is good language, existing good practices, standards, conventions, methodologies, etc?

It's an a javascript animation library. Yes it's very cool to use for websites ( very fast)
