Something's wrong with this script. The value in the variable money is only 9. But if you preview this script you'll see

Guys, I still can't figure it out. Could someone help me to move on? I'm stuck here

script.js
var money = 9;
var today = 'Friday'

if ( money >= 100 || today === 'Friday' ) {
  alert("Time to go to the theater");
} else if ( money >= 50 || today === 'Friday' ) {
  alert("Time for a movie and dinner");
} else if ( money > 10 || today === 'Friday' ) {
  alert("Time for a movie");
} else if ( money >= 12 && today === 'Friday') {
  alert("It's Friday, but I don't have enough money to go out");
 } else {
  alert("This isn't Friday. I need to stay home.");
}

When I run your script, I would expect to see the alert 'Time to go to the theater' (which is indeed what I do see). The first part of your if statement is checking to see if money is greater than or equal to 100 OR if today is Friday. As today is indeed Friday, this statement is true and the alert message ('Time to go to the theater') displays.

I finally figured it out So && instead of || or operator and on the last else if clause I had to make money < 12 . As 12 is higher than money value which is 9.

But I didn’t understand why the variable var today = ‘Friday’ Doesn’t have a semicolon; in the end So I guess if there’s a string for a variable then u apparently don’t need a semicolon;?

Semi-colons are often optional in JS. Personally, I use them as that's how I learnt JS. Here's an article that discusses it: https://flaviocopes.com/javascript-automatic-semicolon-insertion/

Thanks for the response regarding the semicolons. Appreciate it)))
