sqlite for big project

Hello everyone, I begin learn ruby on rails, but I have a question, sqlite is the good choice for big projects?, thanks for your comments.

SQLite is meant as an embedded database for client-side applications not for server-side ones like people traditionally think of large web databases.

Now if you are writing large desktop application SQLite is probably ideal, check out some of the people who use SQLite in their desktop apps.
