Hello,

Please help, I've been really stuck on this. I'm obviously missing something simple about the task.

Hi Derek,

You need to add the div tag to it too, like this.

  a {
    color: red;
    div.footer & {
      color: purple;
    }
  }

Sorry,

"We want to add an exception for <a> tags that are in the <div> with a class of .footer: those links should be purple. Use the post-selector ampersand to achieve this."

Although I don't understand why. In the example Hampton declares rules on classes without the div prefix and it works fine.
