You'll need to change your HTML file and CSS code.

Add 

<div id="main">

So you can then style it later like this

#main {}

Jonathan has explained it best here, just surround the relevant html code with the appropriate <div id="main"> ... </div> this is then styled by adding the appropriate CSS on the stylesheet document as indicated above.
