create a new variable that is named answer. Store the integer version of answerToLife in it

Hi there, your answer is almost perfect, however you have placed spaces that break the code in your last line. You have also changed a String into an integer (then converting it to an integer for a 2nd time) which is counterproductive. So fix it with...

String answerToLife = "42";
int answer = Integer.parseInt(answerToLife);
