Standard deviation symbol is uppercase sigma?

At about 0:12 in this video it shows Σ, uppercase of greek letter sigma, as the symbol for standard deviation. Unless I'm mistaken, that symbol is commonly used for sum and the lowercase sigma, σ, is used for standard deviation.

True, maybe they should note it under the video.

you're not mistaken. uppercase sigma is used for Sum, lowercase for standard deviation, that needs to be corrected on the video. Makes me question the rest of the information. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sigma

It's also wrong in the quiz question. It's now almost four years since the original comment about the need for correction was posted, and it hasn't been changed.
