Starting over on a track

I started the Web Design track a few months ago, I would like to start the course from the beginning. I click leave track, then when I click join it takes me to where I left off! How do I start over?

You can't start a track completely from scratch.

Why do you want to start over?

If you've completed a course within a track you can re-take the course, simply by clicking into the course and redoing the modules.

You also don't have to do a track in order - although it is recommended.

Thanks Dom. I am VERY new to this(on my first course) and I have not done any work on the course in about 4 weeks, thought it best to start over and re-fresh.

No problem, Robert! The nice thing with TeamTreeHouse courses is that there are no expiration dates. So you can take as long as you like on a course :) You also have the option to rewatch all videos. So you can watch one video one hundred times if you wanted :)

It's all at your own pace :)

Hey Robert,

Dom is correct, you can take the courses as many times as you wish. I would just like to point out, however, that the course/track remembers the furthest point at which you have completed.

So, you will have to manually advance (actually click on each step) to move to the next video/part. Also, until you 'catch-up' to where you where before starting over, you will need to manually remember where you have left off.

Keep Coding! :) :dizzy:

I understand that you can take the course over again but the workspace saves hat you've done, I'd like to restart the JavaScript Basics lessons just to make sure all of the information sticks. Is there any way to reset workspaces?

Yes, Raffi, you can reset the workspace.

  • Go to the first lesson in the course and launch the workspace as you normally would, but take note of the name the Workspace has. Then close the workspace.
  • In the navigation :arrow_left: on the left column, go into your Workspace Manager "Workspaces" (icon looks like <>).
  • Here all your Workspaces are listed. Find the one that has the Matching name to the one you launched earlier.
  • To the right, there will be a little gear icon. Click it and then click "Delete Workspace".

Now when you go back to the course and launch the workspace, it will only have the starter files for course as it did the first time around.

Hope this helps :)
