Starting Up - Themazing

TLDR; I am building a startup - Themazing and want to share my experience and get your feedback.

A few months ago I started a plan to build my own premium WordPress theme site. I went through the business and design courses, I read the Lean Startup and the Business Model Generation (as referenced in How to Build Your Company), and I started chatting with Treehouse staff about my idea. At that point everything seemed viable and all that was needed was a team.

Last month I found my team and pitched my idea. I showed the team the plan, and how we would go about getting to market, testing our plan, and lastly making changes based on our findings. The team itself is a web development startup that has been doing well for the past year and the team was willing to provided the initial talent needed to build everything while I take on design and business development.

And this is where I introduce the startup - Themazing

This week we launched our pre registration landing page. This is a 40 day initiative we are making before launching the service. During this time we will be collecting pre registrations (which will get a discount at launch for being early adopters of our service). Our goal is to get feedback/thoughts on what users may want from a premium theme service, while gauging how many users would pre register.

What I will be doing is sharing how everything is going, and the behind the scenes view of the startup as we build and test out business. Its my goal to give back my learning experience to the Treehouse community.
