Storing the value of a Text input

I have no idea what I'm missing.

app.js
let inputValue = document.querySelector('#linkName.value');
index.html

        <title>DOM Manipulation</title>
    </head>
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="style.css" />
    <body>
        <div id="content">
            <label>Link Name:</label>
            <input type="text" id="linkName">
            <a id="link" href="https://teamtreehouse.com"></a>
        </div>

You're right Eslam. Or use shorthand. "document.querySelector().value;". The "value" method can't be used in the querySelector. You use after the selector . Hope this help.
