2,435 PointsStory Your Websites
HI,
I was wondering, could any of you share your story ? and can anyone show your websites here?
My story so far is like this:
I started a year ago with HTML and CSS. I was watching outdates videos on Lynda.com , i started on around April. I hardcode the whole website , with position absolute, floats etc.. nightmare! Though i quite liked the website i did tbh.
When there was summer, ok 2 months , i used treehouse and i was learning responsive design etc.. i was writing HTML and CSS all the time to get it . In october, i drooped all the web and started in iOS. For a month , i just did iOS . Why? because i like it more but im in the situation where i extra cash will be very helpful and it takes less to earn from websites then apps in at the start. After that , i dropped iOS in November and every day, at least 30minutes each day, for sure, i could make any website i was with just CSS . And i learned its easy. Most common code is table cells, inline block , display block, floats and yeah this stuff. Its simple .
Then i went to bootstrap , im using it till now and after like 3months non coding with only CSS, only in bootstrap layout yes, but not whole website, i was surprised i could code a website very easily with my CSS and HTML. Bootstrap helped me to name classes in a good way and with it logic, it also helped me to ordinate the code better. Although i still put too many spaces , it just easier for me to read : p while people say its bad having too many spaces. I just like to see blocks of code .
So now i m pretty confident to do any layout website, without the fancy graphic like League of Legends , and im learning PHP. PHP is pretty easy in terms of understanding and well, it takes time to get it and study it but im getting there, just need more time .
So now over this summer, im planning to launch my business before September , a website like facebook and treehouse with the features. Like forum, users, log in log out, search, location and stuff. I believe i have enough time to learn it , i believe it doesn't take so long either. But i will probably use a framework then . Now im coding it all for the best learning purposes .
I will have to learn marketing, but im hell not interested in it, at the moment, just a little, but i prefer to be in the code now, i believe because of the excitement i got to learn and do new stuff like user log in :D
Whats your story ? :)
btw could you rate my writing , grammar and structure from 1 to 10 please?

26,377 PointsHi there,
Very interesting. I am doing coding for a year. I did a site a month ago for js study guide http://codrainer.com/codelounge/index.html and now working on a site about same topic. On that site student can share their success stories.

26,377 PointsThanks! I am still learning js. It is like never ending process. But I keep TTH account to learn other light weigh languages like ruby and python. TTH is good for basics. It gives you good foundation. If you succeed sooner do give me your story. I am going to finish this site this month. But I will be adding stories in it all the time. happy coding :)

2,435 PointsSure ! :) My project will be in the categories of medium-big i believe + the design whcih i havent done yet. I learn the basics from TTH, then i use forum as my learning resource most of the time . I kind of preffer to start with codeacademy to get the feel and understanding or TTH first then codeacademy for make it stronger . Then i just dive in and try to do what i want to do which is hard but it kind of works. Too bad that all the PHP tutroials are outdated : p And enchancing simple application doesnt work on me so i dont know what im missing there. Though with documentation is pretty simple, kind of. it get more complex with the session user unique id etc.. : p like the log in system ; p at least for now for me .
When your done, i would love to see your website ! And have you licended it? copyright? or if you jsut put copyright, that ok? or thats not valid? i believe you need some electronig prove ?

you are very understandable but I've always assumed english is your second language. On top of that, UK english is different from american english in very settle ways. my favorit phrase you say is "low jobs".
I give your english a 7 because its understandable but not clear enough to write blogs or become a copywriter!

2,435 Points"low jobs" xD
It's my third language :D and now learning some simple words in Japanese too (mainly syllabus xd but still ) :D
Aww :( xd i wan't soon write articles for my website , or rather , i will need to : p its not essentially to write it in the first time, but it will sure give content and i finally could say what i need to say to the word about the subject i will write . Its about different styles of martial arts. I did years of research about it and trained my self too, so yeah : p
At least people can understand me ^^ thank you for the review :) im going to persuade a 10 :D at least i hope ill get a 9 soon :) at the end of November since thats my goal to learn enough english .With a hope that my english wont get worse over the three months beeing in my country : d
Or i believe i need more than that xd What do you think should i work on my english? : p
Treehouse should actually make some forum with stories written in forum by students about their journey . Not in their success story board.
At least UK and USA languages are extreme similar xdd just different spelling in some words and different pronunciation xd ( i know its the same xd ).

10,763 Pointsfor example you wrote in one posting
"My plan in deep is like : "
which could have been written
"My plan in depth is : "

2,435 PointsI didnt even know how to learn. And im 18 now . I started when i was 17. I allways put a lot of work in everything, and effort, but nothing even came up, but now i feel im movign and actually learning PHP :) i like iOS though , i got the basics after a month, but i forget it now .
Thats an amazing website! I love it! Maybe theres two-three things that cached my eye ( e.g no favicon) , but everything has a style, its looks awesome!
How long did it take you to get a your first project done with JS? i believe JS i harder than PHP as well.
