4,637 PointsstretchMode attribute
Finally, let's set the stretch mode of this GridView such that the spaces between the columns are stretched to maintain the same column widths we just set. We can do this by using the value spacingWidth for the stretchMode attribute.
<RelativeLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:background="@color/light_green"
android:padding="8dp" >
<GridView
android:id="@+id/gridview"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:numColumns="auto_fit"
android:columnWidth="100dp"
android:spacingWidth="columnWidth"
android:gravity="center"
android:layout_centerHorizontal="true"
android:horizontalSpacing="@dimen/horizontal_spacing"
android:verticalSpacing="@dimen/vertical_spacing" />
</RelativeLayout>

15,086 PointsI'm not sure what you are asking in this, however I think instead of android:spacingWidth="columnWidth" you are looking for android:stretchMode="spacingWidth"
or you may just be wanting to use the android:stretchMode="spacingWidth" along with the columnWidth portion.
Hope this helps, if not please feel free to revise your question or just shoot me a message personally!
