Python Python Basics (2015) Letter Game App Random Item

stuck in the task

Hey guys, I think I've returned the correct iterable member, can somebody show me my mistake?

item.py
import random
# EXAMPLE
iterable = "Treehouse"

# random_item("Treehouse")
def random_item(iterable):
    random_number = random.randint(0, len(iterable) - 1)
    return random_number
# The randomly selected number is 4.
# The return value would be "h"

Code is perfectly correct, you just missed a little specification. You have to return the member at that index.

So in your code while returning the value, return random_number, you have to return the value at that index... return iterable[random_number]

import random
# EXAMPLE
iterable = "Treehouse"

# random_item("Treehouse")
def random_item(iterable):
    random_number = random.randint(0, len(iterable) - 1)
    return iterable[random_number]
# The randomly selected number is 4.
# The return value would be "h"

Thank you so much Krishna :) it worked!
