Stuck on the purging objective

in case it helps, I get the following error:

FileNotFoundError: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: '2003-12-07-L0JNT.txt'

purging.py
import os

def delete_by_date(string):
    string = '-'.join(string.split('-')[:-1])
    for each_file in os.listdir("backups"):
        if string in each_file:
            os.remove(each_file)

You are very close! The input string does not need to be modified. The error is in the argument to os.remove. Remember to prefix the each_file with the "backups" using os.path.join

i guess we are to assume we are not working in the 'backups dir'
