CSS Sass Basics (retired) Getting Started with Sass Advanced Nesting

Stucked honestly in SaSS

Hello everyone here is my task and i'm honestly don't understand what to do. We want to add an exception for <a> tags that are are in the <div> with a class of .footer: those links should be purple. Use the post-selector ampersand to achieve this.

here is my code

/* Write your SCSS code below. */

p {

a {
color: red;
.footer & {  /* here what i have added but id doesn't work */

    color: blue;
}

}

} p { > a { color: blue; &:hover { opacity: 0.5; }

}

}

Hi

This has caught a couple of people out: Here And Here

Looking at your sass you where on the right tracks and this would work, but the question is ambiguous, it states "in the div with a class of .footer so to get the code to pass you need:

p {
  a {
    color: red;
    div.footer & {
         color: purple;
   }
  }
  > a {
    color: blue;
    &:hover {
      opacity: 0.5;
    }
  }
}

Hope this helps Bob

You want a <div> with a class of .footer not any element with a class of .footer

Thank you! I got it!

I was stuck here too. Thank you!
