Stylesheet

In the code <link rel="stylesheet" href="css/normalize.css"> what does stylesheet mean. Why is the relationship stylesheet, shouldnt it be normalize as the relationship since its the file being linked?

Basically

The 'stylesheet' value for the 'rel' attribute tells the browser it is a .css (stylesheet) file. At least, that's always what I have assumed.
