Subscribe and unsubscribe buttons.

I've noticed that when I open up a forum post there is a button in the top-right corner that either says subscribe or unsubscribe, what do they do?

subscribing to a forum post lets you get notifications on treehouse/email when people respond.

asking a question on the forum or posting an answer subscribes you automatically, but in the case you just want to be notified of what people say without doing those things you can subscribe and get notifications
