Suddenly getting a 404 error on style.css?? [SOLVED]

This is driving me nuts!!!

Randomly, styles from style.css just stopped working on my Wordpress site.

I checked the console, and it gives me a 404 error for style.css.

What's crazy is my theme is still active (which means Wordpress IS loading style.css, because you need it to even have a theme in the first place).

What the hell is going on here?

I found the cause in case anyone has the same problem...

Somehow permissions got changed on style.css in FTP, which was preventing the browser from accessing the file. Once I changed it back, everything went back to normal.

FTP is not safe. Look into SFTP and SSH.

Also I will leave this here:

find . -type d -exec chmod 755 {} \; # Change directory permissions rwxr-xr-x
find . -type f -exec chmod 644 {} \; # Change file permissions rw-r--r--
