sudo is not recognized
when I type in the command in my terminal I get this message:
'sudo' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.
I assume this is because I'm on windows and not mac

You are correct, "sudo" is only a Mac/Linux command, On Windows, credentials for elevated privileges are usually requested automatically in a pop-up dialog when you attempt something that requires them.
