Suspected typo in quiz question 2/4. I believe there should be a '+' sign in the id for 'EditText'. Am I wrong?

Should be: android:layout_below="+@id/captionField" Not: android:layout_below="@id/captionField" Explain it to me if I'm wrong please, thanks!

While these challenges are not always perfect in this instance the challenge is the one in the right.

"@+id" is used when creating a new id, when you are referencing an id that already exists you don't include the +. "android:layout_below" is referencing an existing id, not creating it. So it's correct that it does not include the +.
