Courses Plus Student 14,966 PointsSVG Fallback
Hi There
I am using SVG's for the first time ever and having a little trouble with the fall back for it
<li><a href="https://www.facebook.com/pages/SMG-ITCONSULTANCY/128836647245134" rel="external"><?php include("inc/facebookHeader.svg"); ?></a></li>
If this is my SVG how do I make the fall back for IE8 from here assuming I have the image to hand.

Courses Plus Student 14,966 PointsHi Gareth
It certainly has - I did have an initial look over CSS Tricks which is where I picked up the in-line approach from (sure that is not exclusive to CSS Tricks but it is where it came from)

14,865 PointsHi Graham,
I've been working with SVG's for the past few days and have found a number of ways of implement them with legacy browser support. Take a look at Chris Coyier's article over at CSS Tricks for a full list: http://css-tricks.com/using-svg/
You should maybe look at providing fallback with Modernizr (also documented in the above article).
I've also found that there's an issue in ie8 when you provide a fallback within an object tag:
When the above is viewed in ie8, the fallback image, if a PNG or GIF, loses it's transparency and will render with an indented border. so maybe worth staying away from this method for now.
I know I haven't answered your question fully but hopefully this will help put you on the right track.
